The Stafford Resident Trooper's Office is distributing gun safety locks as part of a continuing effort to promote responsible gun ownership. The gun locks are free of charge to Stafford residents.  This program is a nationwide program that promotes safe and responsible firearm ownership and storage. The gun safety locks are designed to prevent and/or reduce the chance of an accidental discharge of a firearm.   Anyone interested in obtaining a free gun lock may pick one up at the Stafford Resident Trooper's Office located at 2 Main Street. For more information, contact the Sergeant Thomas Duncan at 684-3777.
