Don’t miss the fun and educational activities children and their families can enjoy at the upcoming “Stafford Child Safety Day” being organized by West Stafford School. This free (rain or shine) event will be held on Saturday, May 14th from 2:00-4:00pm at Stafford High School located at 145 Orcuttville Road in Stafford Springs. In fair weather, the event will be on the field in front of the high school’s entrance. In poor weather, the event will be moved to the back entrance for vehicle displays and indoors utilizing the high school’s cafeteria and adjacent hallways.

Stafford Child Safety Day will feature several “Touch-a-Truck” options featuring a police cruiser, fire trucks, an ambulance, a high-tech satellite truck, several military vehicles, an environmental display, an aerial drone demonstration, interactive traffic safety displays, a dental truck to explore and more! An exciting fair weather option will be viewing the Trooper One helicopter from the CT State Police Aviation Unit!

Many informational booths are also available for children and their families at Stafford Child Safety Day. Safety displays will include child ID kits (with fingerprinting), bike helmets (while supplies last), railroad safety, injury prevention, poison control, healthy relationships, impaired driving awareness, aerial drone awareness and a visit from CT State Police K-9 Eli. Additional community groups will include Stafford Safe Grad, Stafford Family Resource Center, Early Head Start, Stafford Public Library, Rotary Club of Stafford, Dept. of Children and Families, Aqua Pump, Girl Scouts of Stafford, face painting by the Happy Facepainter and more! The WSS/SES PTA will be selling snacks and drinks as a fundraiser. Indoor restrooms will be available for use at the event.

Parking will be available at Stafford High School, Stafford Elementary School and Stafford Middle School. No street parking will be allowed on Orcuttville Road, Levinthal Run or County Road. Please do not park in the Stafford Public Library during the event.
