The North Central District Health Department inspects restaurants and other food service establishments, homes, schools, convalescent homes and other institutions- working to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. Department staff reviews, tests and approves new septic systems as well as the review and approval of system repairs and/or expansion. Additionally, staff tests drinking water and paint samples for lead. Staff investigates complaints in regard to public health hazards.

Stafford Bike Rack Initiative-Be a Sponsor
As a follow-up to the active & Healthy Community workshop presented by Mark Fenton on June 16th, The North Central District Health Department in conjunction with the Town of Stafford and funding provided by the Connecticut Department of Public Health Chronic Disease Prevention Grant is beginning a "Bike Rack initiative"  The goal is to help fund the installation of bike racks provided by the Health Department throughout town by selling "Sponsorship Bricks" for each bike rack.  Individuals, businesses, civic groups, and associations are all eligible to purchase these bricks to help support this program.  Attached is a flyer describing the program as well as the order form for the bricks.  Questions can be directed to Mary-Elizebeth L.
