Land Record Fees

The Town Clerk's Office accepts instruments for recording for property located in Stafford. All documents for recording must be original or certified copies.  Deeds and permanent easements require a Connecticut Real Estate Conveyance Tax Form (OP-236).  Local conveyance is .0025 x conveyance paid.

To request a document by mail, please include the volume and page, the correct fee and a self addressed stamped envelope.

Stafford Land Records are open to the public and may be searched online at the COTT Systems Connecticut Town Clerk Portal or in the office.  Users are advised to search all possible spelling variations of proper names, in order to maximize the search results.  The staff members of the Town Clerk's office are not attorneys, and as a result are not able to provide assistance with legal questions regarding land documents.
