Attention Stafford Residents-Road Work

On Tuesday October 17, 2017 at 9:30am Public Works will begin a paving operation to resolve rutting and pavement issues prior to the upcoming snowplow season. Due to budget constraints the paving will consist of Section Shimming only. We will begin on Village Hill Road between Route 190 and the Willington line. The second road will be the hill section of Patten Road. (anticipate work will begin week of October 23rd) We will advise of additional roads pending weather and funding. Roads will remain open but expect delays.

Informational Meeting Witt School re-use

Attention Stafford Residents Informational Meeting Witt School re-use Tuesday October 24, 2017 6:30PM Stafford Community Center Joe Vallone, developer of the award winning Loom City Lofts project in downtown Rockville, CT which has 68 rental units in the 82,000 sq. ft. building with 7,000 sq. ft. of commercial space on the main floor will be presenting his thoughts and comments regarding transformation of Stafford’s Witt School Building.

Absentee Ballots for November 7, 2017 Municipal Election

Absentee Ballots for the Municipal Election are available beginning October 6, 2017.Because the 6th falls on a weekend and Town offices are closed on Monday October 9, 2017 for Columbus Day, the first day to cast your Absentee Ballot in person is on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. You may vote by Absentee Ballot for the following reasons: absence from town during all hours of voting; physical disability; active service in Armed Forces; and religious tenets. To apply for an Absentee Ballot, simply return a completed Absentee Ballot Application to the Town Clerk. You may get this from the Town Clerk, or you may access the application on the Town of Stafford website at www.staffordct.org (Go to Government-Departments-Town Clerk's Office-and then click on the second form under Online Forms which is located on the right of your screen. It is called Application for Absentee Ballot. If you are out & about beginning October 10th, the easiest way to vote by Absentee Ballot is to simply walk in to the office at Town Hall-show your identification-fill out the application- we will hand you the ballot-offer you a private location- and you may vote at that time. We will clock in your ballot and hold it in a secure vaulted location until Election Day. As always, feel free to call the office at 860-684-1765 to find the easiest way to vote by Absentee Ballot based on your personal situation. Office hours are Mon-Wed 8:00 am to 4:30 pm & Thursday 8:00 am to 6:30 pm.
