Community Center Back to School Program

People who have signed up for our Back to School Program can pick up their supplies at our offices at the Community Center, 3 Buckley Highway, starting on Monday, August 22nd. Our hours are Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 to 4:30, Thursday 8:00 to 6:30, and Friday 10:00 to 1:00. We will be closed for lunch from 12:15 to 12:45 during the week of August 22nd to August 25th.

Stafford Social Services Back-to-School Program is open now! Anyone who would like to apply to participate may stop by our offices at the Community Center, 3 Buckley Highway to fill out an application. Stafford Social Services is accepting donations of school supplies for the Back-to-School Program for families in need. Supplies needed include backpacks, pens, pencils, crayons, highlighters, glue sticks, rulers, erasers, pencil sharpeners, pocket folders, spiral notebooks, composition notebooks, calculators, and more. Applications can be filled out and donations can be dropped off at 3 Buckley Highway, Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Friday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For details call 860-684-7752 or 860-684-3906.

The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 26, is in need of new knitted or crocheted hats and scarves to be distributed to Connecticut Veterans at the annual Stand Down Event on Sept. 23, 2016 in Rocky Hill. Jazz in the Park Summer Concert Series

The Jazz in the Park summer concert series begins Wed May 4th in the Haymarket Common located on Main St Stafford Springs, the concert begins at 6:30pm to 8:30pm and will feature the Blue Skies Big Band, a 20 pieces jazz big band playing swingin standards in the style of Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Bobby Darin, etc. This is a free event sponsored by Wayne and Jean Pisciotta Rentals LLC. Be sure to stop by and enjoy the music. The concert series continues throughout the summer on the first Wednesday of the month, hope to see you there!!! Rain location is the Stafford Palace Theater, this is a rain or shine event.
