Leonard Road Bridge Reopens!

IMG_2275
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held earlier today, officially reopening the Leonard Road Bridge to vehicle and pedestrian traffic! The Department of Public Works and Board of Selectmen – past and present – commemorated its completion with project partners and collaborators Cardinal Engineering, Rotha Contracting, Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG), the Office of Congressman Joe Courtney, TTM Technologies, and residents. Its construction and completion not only improve Stafford’s transportation, safety, and critical infrastructure, but resulted in an attractive bridge with new sidewalks and improved lighting reflective of the historic Stafford Hollow neighborhood. Gratitude extends to contributing project partners as well as patient residents.

The Leonard Road Bridge crosses over the Furnace Brook, located at the junction of Route 19 and Route 319 in Stafford, Connecticut.

Please note: While the roadway is officially open, motorist may experience temporary one-lane traffic patterns or closures during daytime work hours as crews finalize the project.
